CHIEF OF GENERAL STAFF.
(Bv Telegraph.—Special to Standard.) WELLINGTON, Oct., 0. During the absence of Major-General Sir John Duigan from New Zealand as a delegate to the Empire Economic Conference at Delhi,- Major-General Sir Andrew Russell, who recently became Inspector-General of the New Zealand Forces, will act as Chief of the General Staff. This announcement was made by Hon. F. Jones, Minister of Defence, to-day.
