MISSING AIRMEN.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Oct. 6. The following air casualties were announced at the week-end:— Sergeant Colin Mackenzie , Laird, R.N.Z.A.F., missing on air operations; mother, Mrs J. Laird, 15 Parkcs Avenue, St. John’s Hill, Wanganui. Pilot-Officer Harry Wright Morgan, missing on air operations; sister Mrs Pilbrow, Oxford, North Canterbury. Information has been received by Mr and Mrs D. A. Hughes, of Riverlea, South Taranaki, of the death of their son, Sergeant-Airgunner David Ernest Hughes, in a flying accident in England on October 3. Sergeant-Airgunner Hughes left three months ago after training in New Zealand. Pilot-Officer Morgan is a son of the late Mr and Mrs W. A. Morgan, of Mount Somers, Canterbury, and a nephew of Mr 11. C. Morgan, accountant at the Palmerston North branch of the Bank of New Zealand. Mrs H. Pilbrow, of Oxford, Canterbury, is a sister. He is 26 years of age and landed in England in July of this year, entering on a short service commission with the Royal Air Force. He received 'his secondary education at Christ’s College and attended Canterbury University College.
