Friday’s closing prices for raw materials were as follow, those for September 27 being shown in parentheses ;—Cotton : Liverpool quotation, good American middling, spot, 8.31 d a lb (not quoted); November delivery, 7.69 d alb (not quoted). Rubber : Para, 12d a lb (same); plantation smoked ribbed -sheet, 11 7-8 d .a lb (11 9-16 d). Linseed oil : Not quoted (£45 a ton). Turpentine: 55s a cwt. (54s 6d). The price of tin is quoted as follows: Spot, buyers £255 15s a ton, sellers £256; forward! buyers £260 a ton, sellers £260 ss.
