LONG-RANGE GUNS.

BRITISH CONVOY SHELLED. (Rec. 9 a.m.) LONDON, 'Oct. 4. German long-range guns in France shelled a British convoy in the Straits of Dover at dawn to-day. The 6alvoes of three shells each were fired from near Cape Gris Nez, as the convoy, which carried its own balloon barrage, ploughed through rough seas swept by a south-westerly gale. Great columns of water shot up and the gunfire shook houses and wakened people living on the Kentish coast.
