Designed to facilitate tho country’s war effort, several interesting provisions are contained in the Motor i Vehicles (Emergency Regulations, 19-10, gazetted to-night. One regulation provides that farmers who in the past have been granted a reduction of 50 per cent, iii heavy traffic license fees provided their iarm trucks were used only for the carriage of their own supplies, may now carry their neighbours' milk or whey to or from the dairy factory without foregoing the reduction in license ices, the purpose of the regulation is to encourage tho production of more cheese lor export to Britain. Another regulation authorises the Commissioner of Transport to issue driving licenses without Tee to qualified members of His Majesty’s* -Forces when their duties ill tho .services require it. Hitherto .local bodies have been the only authorities competent to issue driving licenses.
