MILITARY SERVICE APPEALS
Up to this afternoon six applications for exemption from military service had been lodged with the Manawatil Man-Power Committee following the first ballot, announced yesterday. The first appeal yesterday was lodged in the morning, action evidently being taken immediately the person whose name had been drawn in the ballot iiad received advice by registered letter.
