PLUNKET SOCIETY.
The monthly meeting of the Feilding Plunket Society was held yesterday, Mrs A. C. McCorkindale presiding. Also present were Mesdames It. E. Seddon. R. M. Watson, H. C. D. Somerset, H. Brown, R. Boulds, AIt. Carter, T. Donaldson. L. W. Penhey, R. Bailey, and A. McGregor. It was stated' that the committee was finding it difficult to arrange transport for the nurse and a vote of apprecia-
tion was accorded Mrs Lugg for assisting. Advice was received from headquarters that the nurse (Miss Briggs) would be taking her annual leave and arrangements are to be made for this. An offer by Mrs B. Bailey for the use of her home for a garden party was accepted with thanks and it was decided that the function take place in December. A vote of thanks was accorded Mrs Pen hey for arranging a bridge evening. A donation of £3 13s (id was received from the lady bridge players, who indicated that they were prepared to make a regular contribution. A number of donations and subscriptions were received. In connection with a cake competition to be conducted by the society, it was stated that Miss F. Maguire had donated a handsome prize.
