Boy Scouts’ Rally. It is expected that there will be some 500 Boy Scouts in Feilding for the Labour Day rally. Scouts and cubs are expected from the surrounding districts, including Pohangina, Dannevirke Woodville and Levin. The Kowhai and First Feilding troops arc making the arrangements for the rally, which is the first to be allocated to Feilding. A special train will bring the visitors. Bridge-building, signalling and first aid are among the demonstrations to be given, while the Cubs will indulge in athletic sports. Bowling.
Tho Oroua Bowling Club is sending three rinks away to-morrow as follow: tor Foxton: McAvoy, Watt, Benefield, Hansrnan (skip), car. lakaro: Cantwell, Thurston (car), Hoflmcistcr, Law (skip). Terrace End:- Collier, Smithers, Stewart (car), Edclst.cn (skip). Feilding Club’s fours are:—At Foxton, Moore, Rosanoski, Follctt, Edwards, terrace End: Burne, Nesbit, McDowall, Simson. Takaro: Dunnner. Hayward, RJones, Major.
High School Runners. Tho annual road race of the High School was held yesterday in good weather and 130 pupils ’set out. on the three and a hall niilo course. The field was strung out over half a mile, and as the runners settled down Sileoek (Manawatu House) as sumed the leadership and went, on to win from the two Weir boys, the elder securing second place. Silcoek’s time was 19min 12scc. Hay (Rangitikei House) was placed fourth and Moar (Rangilano) fifth. Heavnes, Evans, Brown, Garlick and Fan Ike were next to reach tho finishing tape. In points School House secured 79.2, Rangitane 72.4, Rangitikei 54.5 and Manawatu 48.3. St. Paul’s Tennis Club.
St. Paul’s Presbyterian Tennis Club will hold its official opening day to-morrow, when a Yankee tournament will bo held. All players arc invited to be present.
