INTER-HOUSE BASKETBALL.

Tho following are the results of the games played in the inter-house basketball competition on Wednesday Laches’ A grade: Public Service 22 v. M.L.S. 12 (to decide runners-up for A grade). Ladies’ B grade: Manawatu Canvas Co. 18 v. Bramac 12 (Canvas Co. win the grade). Men’s A grade knock-out: Manhattan’ lb v. City , Council 8 (Manhattan win the competition). Ladies’ handicap knock-out: Exclusive beat Civil Service, Libortyland B beat Liberyland A; Gajiichan’s boat Hutchins; P.D.G. beat Woolworths; Glaxo beat Rosco. 'lhc final game of the ladies’ B grade competition produced very fast play between two very evenly matched teams. Bramac and Manawatu Canvas Co. came through the competition with the loss of only one game each, and thus fought out the final. Bramac established ah early lead and by good fast combined play were ahead 14—6 at half-time. From commencement of the second half Camas Co., playing a shorter ' passing game, gradually overhauled their opponents. and amid excitement drew level. The last few minutes were productive of extremely good, fast play, which was much appreciated by the packed gallery. Canvas Co. eventually Avon a well-deserved victory. I At the conclusion of the game, Mr G. IWatehorn, (he donor of the handsome cup for which the toam6 were playing, presented the trophy to Miss Doris Esau, the captain of tho winning team,, and congratulated both teams on the excellent display they had given.
