The Dominion Auctioneering Co.. Ltd . report receiving an exceptionally heavy yarding of pigs at their usual Thursday sale. Weaners and store.-* were a little easier in price, but porkers were keenly sought after, commanding keen competition irom a full bench oi buyers. Poultry came forward in large quanlit.es, heavy hens realising 5s 6d each and young ducks to 6s. Due to the favourable Season, vegetables were in heavy supply, but with the exception of cabbage all classes showed an inipiovenient on last week’s rates, lettuces and cauliflowers in particular bringing high prices. We quote as follow: Pigs: Best weaners, 24s to 265; medium, 20s to 22s 6d; small to backward, 16s 6d to 19s; slips, 26s 6d to 355; heavy stores. 40s to 445; medium stores, 34s to 3?s; heavy porkers, £3 to £3 3s: medium, £2 10s to £2 19s; sows and litters. £7 10s, £3 10s, to £9 10s; boars, to 3jgns.: empty sows, to £2 10s. Poultry: Heavy hens, 5s to 5s 6d each; best W.L. liens, 4s to 4s 7d each; light hens, 3s to 3s 6d ; heavy cockerels, 4s to 4s 6d each; spring cockerels, 6d tp 2s 9d eacli; young clucks, 5« to 6s each ; old ducks, 3s 6d to 4s each; gobblers, to 9s 6d each; hens and chicks, to 10s 6d.
