GERMANS IN BALKANS.
INCREASED HOLD APPARENT.
LONDON, Oct. 1. The appointment of new , gauleiters (Nazi Party area leaders) in Transvlvania and Banat (between the Rivers Danube, Tisa, and Maro's) and also German mayors and vice-mayors in 12 important towns provides the latest evidence of the Gerinanisatiori of Rumania. The appointments followed a cordial talk between the minority loader (Herr Schmidt) and M. Horiasima (Vice-Premier). Italian and German pilots arc taking over the training of the Rumanian air force. Many Italians have recently arrived in Rumania.
The Bulgarian army to-day completed the occupation of Southern Dohnija. The Mayor of Sofia, the Bulgarian capital, is renaming three streets Hitler, Mussolini, and Victor Emmanuel as a token of [gratitude for the assistance of the Axis. 'Hie Press is increasingly pro-German, _ and Axis diplomacy is most active, insisting that only the "support of the Axis will gain for Bulgaria an outlet to tho Aegean Sea.
