Sergeant Hannah, of tho R.A.F., who has been awarded a V.C. by the King for conspicuous bravery, was born in Paisley. He was a boot salesman before joining the R.A.F. in 1939. Bahamas’ Donation. The Bahamas R,ed Cross Association has cabled £ISOO to the Lord Mayor’s fund for the relief of London air-raid victims, bringing the total of its contributions to £2OOO. —British Official Wireiess. A Bucharest message says two Britons, Mr Charles Brasier. engineer, and Mr Reginald Young, chief chemist of the Romana Americana Oil Company, were badly beaten up at Ploesti and forced to sign a declaration that they were preparing sabotage. It is understod they have been brought to Bucharest for expulsion.
