CHILDREN FOR BRITAIN.
ARRIVAL IN DOMINION. PARTY UNDER OFFICIAL SCHEME. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON. Sopt. 27. The first party of British children to come under the official scheme for providing temporary homes in the Dominions for British children from the danger areas has arrived safely. There are 89 altogether and they are accompanied by adult escorts. All were given a warm welcome in which Hon. W. E. Parry, who carried out the negotiations with the British Government, joined. GROUP FOR PALMERSTON NORTH. It is understood that a small party of these children will arrive in Palmerston North during the week-end, arrangements having been made for their accommodation at All Saints’ Home prior to taking up their residence in local homes.
