NAZIS USE CONCRETE BOMBS.
LONDON, Sept. 8. The Germans, in recent raids on shipping, have used bombs with roughcast concrete casings instead of steel, says the aeronautical correspondent of the Times. No hits were scored, but t'he explosions showered decks with pebbles and pieces of concrete. It is possible, the correspondent adds, that the Germans have resorted to concrete because of a shortage of steel or in an effort to relieve the heavily-battered Ruhr foundries. The R.A.F. experimented with concrete in the war of 1914-18, but found it unsatisfactory.
