FOXTON RACING CLUB.

SPRING MEETING TO-MORROW. GOOD RACING EXPECTED. (By "Spectator.”) The Foxton Racing Club's spring meeting will be bold to-morrow, when the club will present an attractive programme on its homo course, which immediately afterwards, will bo taken over by the military authorities. The acceptances are particularly good and thero will be some large fields. In view of this some interesting racing should be seen. Because of the field of 23 in the Trial Stakes exceeding the safely number by four the race has been divided. As thero are already eight races in the card the totalisalor will be open once only for the event. The other events have also received good support, even the smallest field having 10 accepters. The first raco will start at noon, and betting will be on the win-and-place system. The Carnavon Handicap, the open distance event, has drawn an excellent licld of 15 horses, including many high-class performers. Siegmund, who heads the weights, has failed to get into the money in recent starts. Lady Montana will be having her first start since she won on the second day of the Wanganui meeting. Winsome Lu was third at Marton and' Little Robin raced well at the Wanganui meeting. Gaelic Song, a Marton winner, has now nearly a stone more to carry, but may again be in the money. From the samo stable is Aurora’s Star, who has not raced for a while. Old Surrey has . also been off the scene. Coloncy Bogey, who was unlucky at the Wanganui meeting, was fifth at Marton. Noble Fox, a good second at Marton, should commend support. Master Cyklon has not been in the money recently, and Night Eruption was third in a sprint at the Wanganui club’s meeting. Hunting Cat has _ not appeared recently, but Pearl of Asia ran well enough in back events at the Wanganui meeting to have a chance. Sporting Gift may race well on his home course, ami Colossal Chief has been racing fairly well in sprints. The race presents a very open appearance. The Robinson Handicap, the open sprint, has also attracted horses with good credentials. Mittie’s win in an event of this typo at the Wanganui Club’s meeting may bring her plenty of support. Taurangi, the top-weight, was third in the same race, but failed at Marton. Nigger Boy was third in the sprint at Marton and Screen Star and The Buzzer both rah good races there. Heroic Maid has not been in the money of late, but may attract attention, and from the same stable is Footloose, who was prominent for a lime at Marton. This race should also provide an open and interesting contest.

Four hack events, a hurdle race and a maiden race complete the programme. Tho following horses may be fancied:
