BUILDING LOANS.
A general meeting of shareholders of the Manawatu Co-operative Buildino- Society was held last night. Mr J.°J. O’Shea presided and with him were Messrs G. G. Priest, W. H. Ward G D. Pattle and G. B. Cope (directors). The result of ballots were as follow: £SOO. J. Cull Palmerston North, No. 2 Group, £ooo, C. LBrown, Foxton, No. 4 Group; £2OO, Miss 4. D Clapham, Hawera. £2OO, C. P. Grav, Otaki, £SOO, No. 6 Group; £3OO K Thompson. Pahiatua, £2OO, M r , T> M Travel's, Palmerston North, No 7 Group. Messrs R. Taylor and G 'B Cope acted as scrutineers. * The following free-of-interest loans were finally approved upon the recommendation of the society s solicitors; No 2 Group, £500; No- 4 Group, £300; No. 5 Group, £SOO : No 6 Group £,00; No 7 Group. £ooo. It was stated that shareholders were investing:;their loans in new house properties and were thus helping to reduce the shortage of homes.
