INTERHOUSE BASKETBALL.

COMPETITION LEADERS. One of the-most successful seasons of Die Y.M.C.A. intcrhousc basketball competitions is drawing to a close, and some of the games in the next few weeks will bo very interesting. Tlie men’s A grade competition has been the best and most closely contested since the inception of the competitions. Every team lias suffered four or more defeats, and six teams out of the eight competing were possibilities for the championship, right up to the last few games. The games have aroused the greatest keenness and enthusiasm, both with players and spectators, and the standard of play has been very high. 2ZA Cubs proved the champions. The runnersup are Clausens. The complete results arc set out below: — MEN’S A GRADE.

In the men’s l’> grade competition the points gained by each team are as follow: Rosco’s Y’s, 26; Rascals, 23: Cooks. 22; Clausens, 19; C. and C. Hi Yi’s, 17; Woolworths, 14; G. and 8., 12; Co-op., 8; P.D.C., 3; Mechanicians, 2. , On Saturday next a representative team from Wellington will play the local representative team and the following have been chosen to represent Manawatu: —B. Corlett, Allan (Manhattan), J. Blumount (2ZA Cubs), 11. lxiing (Citv Council), H. B. Harvey (P.D.C.). K. Metcalf, V. Coburn (M. and W. Motors). The referees wiil be Messrs Foster .and Sullivan. WOMEN’S A GRADE. The women’s A grade competition lias shown “Manawatu Evening Standard’’ and Public Service as the outstanding tennis with Glaxo and Garners close up. The present state of the competition is set out below :

RESULTS OK GAMES. . The following are the results of the games played on Wednesday:—Ladies’ A grade: Ec.ipsc 36 v. Hutchin’s 18; Public Sendee 34 v. Garner’s 28; Do Luxe 24 v. C. and Son 10; O. and Son won by dofault from C.M.R. Ladirs’ B grade: Fisher’s 22 v. Exclusive 10; Boris 16 v. P.D.C. 10; Rosco won by default from M.E.S. Men’s A grade: Clausen'S 8 v. P.D.C. 6. Men’s B grade: Co-op. 9 v. G. and B 4; Rosco Y’s won by default from Mechanicians. MANAWATU ASSOCIATION. Representative fixtures will be played on Saturday by the Manawatu Basketball Association as follows:—Senior: Manawatu A v. Horowhenua, 1 p.m., court 1 (Miss Vauticr); To Kawau v. Manawatu B, 3 p.m., court 1 (Miss Rees). Intermediate: Manawatu v. Dannevirke, 2 p.m., court 2 (Mrs Gorringc); Manawatu v. Fcilding, 3 p.m., court 2 (Mr Larkin). Junior: Manawatu v. Hutt Valley, 1 p.m., court 2 (Miss Barrie); Manawatu v. Foxton, 2 p.m., court 1 (Miss Stalker).
