AIR FORCE ACCIDENT.
Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, Sept. 6. Injuries were suffered by a pilot of the R.N.Z.A.F. this morning when two planes collided while taxi-ing at No. 2 Elementary Flying Training School, Bell Block, six miles from Now Plymouth. The injured man is LeadingAircraftsman G. W. De Yore, of Auckland. Two machines, Gipsy Moth training planes, had just landed after training flights and were taxi-ing along the field when the collision occurred. Aircraftsman De Vere’s companion in his plane was unhurt, and so was the sole occupant of the other plane. One machine was damaged extensively and the other not so heavily. Aircraftsman De Yore arrived at the Bell Block station from Weraroa on August 24.
The name of the township on the s'hores of Lake Wanaka is no longer Pembroke. From Sunday it became Wanaka, according to a proclamation published in the New Zealand Gazette. The general aim. of the accumulator (lead process) regulations appearing in last night’s gazette is to safeguard workers in the industries concerned against lead poisoning.
