THE CURTAIN-RAISER.
The curtain-raiser at the Showgrounds was between tho Kia Toa and United junior teams, the former winning by 12 points to G. The scorers for Kia Toa wero Newport, Heavey and Wills (2) and J. Adamson and C. Bell crossed tho line for United. Tho referee was Mr G. Duthic.
