SHANNON.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) SHANNON. Aug. 22. Competing at the Wellington Competitions Festival, Miss Joan Bovis. of Shannon, was very highly commended in the society’s vocal scholarship. In the vocal solo (New- Zealand composer) she was recalled, and also in the vocal, solo (Lieder) sung in English.
