RULE IN INDIA.
OFFER REJECTED. Received August 23, 12.55 p.m. WARDHA, Aug. 22. After a five-day sitting, the Congress Working Committee passed a resolution rejecting Britain’s otter lo a number of representative Indians to join his council. “The Viceroy’s -statement is wholly opposed not only to the principle of Democracy, which the British acclaim in their war aims, but also to India’s best interest. The committee calls on Indians to condemn the British attitude by holding public meetings and other methods, also by their elected representatives in the Provincial Legislatures.”
