POHANGINA INSTITUTE.
At the August meeting of the Pohangina Institute Mrs J. Moar presided. The roll-call. “A household hint,” proved helpful. The bring-and-buy stall was in aid of the Oroua federation. The competition for the best jar of marmalade was judged by Miss C. Balmer and Mrs Orgias and the result was: Mrs Sinclair 1, Mrs Drummond 2, Mrs Shadbolt 3. The mem- j bors made face-cloths for soldiers in hospital. If the Awatea group meeting is not held in Pohangina in September Mrs Dimock will be invited to give another of her talks. A large parcel of knitting will be sent to Vcildiug on Friday. It was decided to send £3 to the Dominion executive for patriotic purposes the sum having previously been put aside for the conference, which has been cancelled.
