KILLED BY TRAIN.
MAN ON JIGGER. Per Press Association. TAUMARUNUI, Aug. 13. When a special train from Taumarunui to Ohakune was travelling slowly late yesterday afternoon through a cutting near Owliango it met two jiggers on the line. The driver of the first jigger, Mr Thomas George Sullivan, had his foot entangled as he tried to jump clear before the impact. He was seriously injured and died in hospital. Mr Sullivan was a married man, aged 25.
