SUPPRESSED BY GOVERNMENT,
Received August 12, 1.5 p.m. ISTANBUL, Aug. 11. The Government has closed down the Cumhuriyet, Turkey’s most prominent newspaper with the largest circulation. The action was the result of proGorman editorials, stating that Turkey should accept the Axis now order for South-Eastern Europe.
