(From Our Own Correspondent.) BUNNYTHORI’E, Aug. 10. At the monthly meeting of tho School Committee Mr F. A. McKenzie presided. Tho headmaster’s report showed tho roll was 104, with an average attendance of 95. Tho visiting committee's report was received and Messrs C. AA'. AAl l itc and C. Harris were appointed to act for tho ensuing month. Final arrangements were made for the children’s fancy dress ball. On Thursday evening a social took place in tho hall in honour of soldiers from the district who were on leave, Messrs A. Meads, R. Ross and F. Messrs A. Guy and G. Reynolds were unable to be present. Items were rendered by the members of the glaxo Social Club, those being Mrs L. H. Scarlc, Misses M. Dicderich and R. Clark, Mr A. Carlisle, Mr L. 11. Searle; the musical items were accompanied by Mrs R. F. Inkpcn and Mr 11. Radford. The three soldiers were invited to tho stage and received a royal welcome. Mr B. Ileggie, chairman of tho committee, expressed regret that tho other two soldiers could not be present. He referred to the young men on the stage, who, ho said, would worthily uphold the standard set by the soldiers in 1914. He wished them the best of luck. Mr A. 11. Faulkner, on behalf of the district residents, conveyed to tho young men tho best wishes and referred to their high standard in private life. AATien tho final victory was won and with the flag of Britain on lop, they would welcome them home again. He presented each soldier with a wallet suitably engraved. After Eupper a danco was held A meeting of glaxo suppliers took place in the hall on Friday evening, there being a largo attendance. Mr J. AA'. Clevcly presided. The representative of the company, Mr 11. E. Bacey, gave an interesting address on the activities of the dairy industry during the past season. Ho referred to the need for increasing the production of cheese and said that the company had placed its cheese plant at the disposal of the department. The past season at the factory showed a considerable increase of milk supplied. Mr Pacey also spoke in a general way as to the supplies and the working at the factory. As to the price for the past season, it would result in a total payout of 19.2982 d; thus a bonus of 2.2982 d would be payable over the advance already made. Tho payment for the coming season would be id per lb more than the last season for twice a day delivery. A number of questions were asked and answered. Mr Radcliffe, man-aging-director of the company also spoke. On tho motion of the chairman the speakers were accorded a vote of thanks, after which tho company entertained the suppliers to a light supper. At the glaxo factory Mr Radcliffe. on behalf of the staff, presented a money-belt to Mr A. Meads, one of the members, who is leaving at an early date for activo service.
