MILLIONS STARVING
UNOCCUPIED FRANCE. AMERICAN FRIENDS’ REPORT. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) Received August 10, 11.55 a.m. PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 9. The American Friends’ Servico reports that millions of refugees and residents in unoccupied France are starving. The conditions are aggravated by the presence of five to ten million refugees. There is adequate food in the occupied areas, but a scarcity of meats, butter and oil in the unoccupied territory, where stock are being slaughtered because there is no feed.
