CLOUDY AND UNSETTLED. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 10. A depression is centred to the north of Auckland, while an anti-cyclone extends from Australia on to the South Island. There will he moderate to strong southerly winds, reaching gale force about the straits, hut decreasing during to-morrow. The weather will be cloudy and unsettled with further drizzle or rain, especially in the south and east; temperatures cold; some snow on the ranges; seas rough. RIVER GAUGE. Noon.—2ft. 3ins.
