THRUSTS AT REICH
r.a.f. again busy. MINES LAID IN PORTS.. (British Official Wireless.) Received August 10, 10.35 a.m. RUGBY, Aug. 9. The Air Ministry announced tonight: “Bomber Command aircraft made daylight attacks yesterday on the aerodrome- of Schipol (Amsterdam) and Valkenburg (near Maastricht). One of our aircraft has not returned. “Aircraft of the Coastal Command on patrol off Le Havre yesterday afternoon shot down an. enemy twin-en-gined fighter in flames. “Among tho military objectives in Germany bombed last night were the Hamburg docks, the supply depots at Hamm, Soest, and Cologne, and several enemy aerodromes. One of our aircraft is missing. “Minelaying by our aircraft in enemy harbours and estuaries, which is a regular feature of our night operations, continues to cause serious damage to enemy shipping and to dislocate his coastal traffic.”
