ALL SAINTS’ HOME.
The monthly mooting of the ladies’ committee of All Saints’ Children’s Home was held on Thursday. Canon G. Y. Woodward presided, and others present were Mesdames C. Akers, N. Blackmore, W. F. Field, W. Phillips, Misses K. Owtram and R. J. Whyte. Apologies for i absence were received from Mesdames G. H. Bagnall, C. Louisson, A. E. Mansford, J. Martin, T. R. Moore, A. T. Nichols, A. L. Robinson, G. Y. Woodward and Mr C. H. Handley. The matron reported that, except for a few colds, all the children were well. One child was discharged during the month. The child welfare officers (Miss Garcia and Mr Sullivan) had made their annual inspecti'ou and expressed their satisfaction at the running of the home. A sewing machine for the use of the senior girls was donated by Mrs R. Harkcr and would he very much appreciated. The Guides had a very hapnv time at the fancy dress party at Takaro.
The committee wish to thank the following for their generous gifts to the home: Mr Rush, firewood; Mr Pratt, hairdressing; Mr Larsen, cream; Mr Thwaites, meat; Manawatu Meat Co., meat; Patriotic Ball Committee, bread, cakes and milk; Mrs Martin, dripping; Mrs Silver, clothes; Anonymous, potatoes; Mrs Sawyer, eggs; Home Cookery, pies and cakes; Mr 11. Knowles, cakes and sandwiches; Y.M.C.A., sandwiches and milk; A friend, meat dish; Anonymous, marmalade; Mr Clark, carrots and parsnips; Friendly Societies’ Ball, sandwiches and scones; Mrs Handley, dripping; Mr Northey, games; Mr Pearce, potatoes; Rongolea Patriotic Society, buns and sandwiches; Mrs Walker, back logs; Mr Whitcombe, vegetables.
