Mr and Mrs .Neil Campbell, of Hawke’s Bay, have returned home after visiting Palmerston North.
'Miss K. N. Woodliouse, of Palmerston North, is spending a holiday at Pukerua Bay.
Misses N. Terry and J. Clevely referees for the Manavatu Basketball Association, liave both passed the New Zealand theoretical examinations for referees. Miss Terry secured ' 1)4 per cent of marks and honours entitling her to sit for the New Zealand practical test.
Members of St. Peter’s branch of the Mother’s Union stood in silence at their meeting yesterday as a mark of respect to the memory of one of their members, the late Mrs C. Cater, ltev. F. S. Ramson reported that a wreath had been sent, and a letter of sympathy to Mr Cater.
At a meeting of the Wanganui Presbytery, at Marton, the session of tit. Andrew’s Church, Palmerston North, appdied for a long, service diploma to be awarded to Miss E. M. Him, who has given over 30 years' continuous service as a Sunday School teacher. It was decided to forward the application to the Assembly’s Youth Committee.
