COMBINED HUNT CLUBS.
NEW PLYMOUTH MEETING. The seventli combined race meeting of the Taranaki Hunt Club and the F.gmontWanganui Hunt Club will be held on tho New Plymouth racecourse on August 29 and 31. Nominations for all events will close next Monday. The programme provides for seven races on the first day and eight on tho second, and a portion of the profits will be given to patriotic funds. The Egmorit-Wanganui Hunt Cup Handicap Steeplechase will be decided on the first day and .the Taranaki Hunt Club Cup Handicap on the second, each race having a stake or £165. Other jumping events are a trial hunters’ steeplechase on the first day and a hack . and hunters' hurdle race on the second. There is an open sprint, with a stake of £159,. on the first day, and on the second tho Halcombc Memorial Handicap, of £175, nine furlongs is the man, open event, while there is also an open sprint valued at £l5O. Two hack events, a maiden race and a race for gentlemen riders complete each day’s programme.
