PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.
STATUS OF BULLS PARISH. At a meeting of the Presbytery of Wanganui, held at Marton, the Bulls congregation made application to be raised in status from that of a home mission station to an aided charge. The moderator, Rev. T. H. Burton, and elders, Messrs J. A. Cornfoot and J. Campion, spoke in support of the application. The finances were in a sound condition and with a grant of £SO the people felt that they could easily maintain the higher status. Tribute was paid to the work of Rev. R. Crocket and Mrs Crocket, and it was requested that Mr Crocket he appointed as the minister. The Presbytery approved of the application and resolved to forward it to the Missions Committee with favourable recommendation. A cordial welcome was accorded to Very Rev. G. H. McNeur, who has returned after nearly forty years in the South China Mission. Mr A. J. Huston, recently appointed as the Assembly’s youth worker, attended the meeting and was welcomed - . He spoke of the opportunity for earnest work among the youth of to-day. Mr Huston is to be stationed for the time being in Palmerston North, and he outlined his plans for co-operating with ministers and youth workers with a view to fostering a deeper spirit of devotion amongst all. A retreat for youth workers is to be held in Marton shortly.
