NEWS FROAI HOAIE. • Received August 6, 10.5 a.m. LONDON. Aug..s. The New Zealand troops in England arc enthusiastic over the first ten-, minute broadcast news from home which the 8.8. C. plans to make a fortnightly feature. Air Darcy Cresswell, of Christchurch, read the bulletin. which included an outline of tho new legislation, particularly affecting tho Services; a summary of the x national finance: details of the land improvement schemes; recruitment and home defence measures ; and numerous items of domestic news —even the result of a notorious murder trial and also a commendable sumnmary of football results. 8.8. C. officials are of the opinion that this is the best Dominion news service so far broadcast. The Government Publicity Officer in London (Air H. T. B. Drew) is responsible for the compilation, which is based on a 300-word Government cable amplified by. air-mailed publicity material from the Prime Alinister’s Office.
