ATLANTIC SERVICE.

FLYING-BOAT’S CROSSING. (British Official Wireless.) Received August 5, 10.5 a.m. RUGBY, Aug. 4. The civil flying boat Clare, belonging to the British Overseas Airways Corporation, has arrived at Botwood (Newfoundland), en route to Montreal and New York, after a flight across the Atlantic- in 16 hours 6 minutes. This flight is the first of a short series which the corporation arc undertaking in continuation of their experimental service last summer. The Eire, Newfoundland, and Canadian authorities are co-operating in the provision of the navigational facilities necessary to ensure a safe crossing, A message from Botwood says the Clare was formerly named the Australia and was built for the Australian route, being later transferred to the Atlantic service. She has taken off for Montreal.
