Received August 5, 10.20 a.m. BOMBAY, Aug. 4. Mr Gandhi said that tile Secretary lor India (Mr L. C. M. S. Amery) had shown a want of appreciation of the gravity of the situation in India and had grievously underrated the restraint of the Congress Party in postponing the civil disobedience campaign. There was a growing suspicion that the British were taking advantage of this restraint in order lo crush the party.
