APITI, Aug. 3. A meeting of allotment holders of the Apiti Cemetery was held recently. The’ board of trustees had come to the encl of its seven years of office, and a new cemetery board had to be elected. No new nominations had been received, and as the sitting members, were willing .to serve again they were all re-elected. A bee ’ was held during the week and a concrete ramp made at the cemetery gates.
The Patriotic Social Committee held ?• meeting on Thursday evening. Mr AV. McKay, presided and those present were Mesdames S. F. Morris, A. E. Pruiean and Miss Paterson. Messrs AV. Duncan A.’ W. Bcnseman, C. Spence, J. R. Osborne, M. U. McKay. T; Nix and S. F . Morris (lion, secretary). Apologies for absence were received from Mrs McNicol and Mr ”■ AVatkins. It was decided to hold a lacldy.s Market, the funds to go to the Provincial Patriotic Fund. The AVomcn’s Division will take charge of a produce and jumble stall and the AVomciTs Institute a sweets and cake stall. A mock court in charge of Messrs J. A. Osborne, \V. Duncan and G. Watkins and various competitions were arranged. Mrs Churcher kindly offered a cake for competition which was accepted with thanks. Donations for the stalls will be acceptable from the residents of the district. Details will be advertised later.
