RED CROSS PARTY.
. A most amusing evening was spent by a large number of young people on Saturday at a “hayseed party” organised by the younger set of the Red Cross and held at Miss Beth Parkes’s studio. A very satisfactory amount was raised for Red Cross funds. The dancers, whose attire ranged from that of a country parson to a typical cowgirl, entered into the spirit of the party right from the first dance, and an air of festivity prevailed. The decorations in the hall were skilfully carried out, bales of straw being used for seats, while a series of highly amusing illustrations of difficult situations “on the farm” came in for a good deal of favourable comment. The supper arrangements were fully in keeping with the other features of the gathering. /
