PLEDGE TO FRANCE. Received June 15, 10.55 a.m. OTTAWA, June 14. The Prime Minister (Mr Mackenzie King), in the House of Commons, said: “I believe I can say to M. Reyna ud that the resources of the whole of the American continent will be thrown on the side of the Allies. Canada pledge® France unwavering support to the utmost limits of her power and resources. France has been informed of this.” A total of 74,900,000 dollars of Canadian 1940-60 registered stock is being redeemed on October 1, involving the repatriation of British-held securities and releasing dollars to purchase Canadian primary and manufactured products which the United Kingdom needs. At New Orleans, the German Con-sul-General (Baron Edgar yon Spiegel) said Germany would not forget when she was fighting for her life that the United States gave every material aid to her enemies. He predicted that the United States “may beg for trade and commerce with the new empire, and get none.” INSTRUCTION TO HOLDERS. (British Official Wireless.) Two orders relating to Canada 4 per cent, stock 1940-1960 have been niade by the Treasury. - The first requires holders resident in Britain to make a return of their holdings not later than June 29.
