It was decided to comb the district for any secondhand clothing- of value, either as they are or to be cut down. Clothing and footwear for all ages and sexes is urgently needed. It was decided that each committee member be responsible for interesting as many helpers as possible and for gathering clothing, material or cash donations. On the first packing day the committee will again meet at the council chambers and all goods will be packed. In order to start a fund to work upon, , Mesdamcs 11. Easton and B. J. Brann undertook to hold a monster card party. It is hoped that this guild will eventually become a branch of the Lady Galway Sowing Guild. In respect of this, the Mayoress (Mrs E. Bull) lias received an invitation to attend a meeting at Government House. As Mrs Butt is unable to undertake the journey, Mrs B. J. Brann will act as her deputy. , , The Patriotic Society has commenced its monthly lfouse-to-house collection in Shannon and district. Collectors are reporting a sympathetic response in most eases and the committee hopes that this form' of collection, will bo found most satisfactory. ■ . , 1 .
