ST. PAUL’S CHURCH.

Successful anniversary eervices closed at St. Paul's Metliodist Church, on Thursday. A concert was held in the schoolroom, at which a large number attended. Rev. Clarence Eaton presided. The chairman briefly review- ' _ ed the work of the year, mentioning the various'activities of tall sections of the church, and returning thanks for many manifestations of support rendered by the congregation. Mrs Eaton and himself were happy in the work at St. Paul’s, and were looking forward to the future with confidence and hopes of continued progress. Mr G. H. Bycroft presented a comprehensive statement of the church finance and property accounts. He called attention to the splendid response to this year’s appeal for increased giving. The result was greatly encouraging. Reference was made to the passing during the year of deceased members who had rendered conspicuous service to the Church. The Church regretted greatly the passing of the lateMr G. H. Bennett, whose long-associa-' tion and practical Christianity, would ever be an inspiration to all. A.splendid programme-of musical and elocu- ’ tionary items was appreciated by the congregation, as was also a talk by Rev. W. T. Blight, of Feilding. 'Contributing to the programme were Mr and Mrs M. Eadie, Mr and Mrs Searle, Mr U. Sharpe, St. Paul’s Choir, the Palmerston North Harmonists, also a ladies’ quartette, comprising Mrs 51. Pearce, Misses G. Lanrenson. J. Bovis and L. McDonald. Supper was provided by the Ladies’ Guild members, -who had also tastefully decorated and arranged the hall.
