THE WINTER SHOW
YOUNG FARMERS’ DAY. RUGBY FOOTBALL TOURNEY. One of the* principal attractions at the Winter Show, to-day, when there \Vas line weather and a large attendance, was the Young Farmers’ Clubs’ seven-a-side Rugby tournament, the final match takinug place on the oval in the afternoon. On the oval, also, • another demonstration ol working sheep with five dogs at a time was scheduled to bo given by Mr R. Fortune, of Timaru, and this evening Miss Hato and her party of Maori entertainers will be heard again in No. 4 hall. , Several breed societies held meetings at the Show to-day and there was a dispersal sale of Mr A; L. Wheleer’s stud Southdown flock. The chief attraction to-morrow will be the ever popular horse competitions in the oval, and .another dog trial demonstration will be held. The Poultry’ Show closes to-morrow at 5 p.m.
