SUPREME WAR COUNCIL. NORWAY A NEW ALLY. GRATITUDE LOR AID. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (British Official Wireless.) Received April 24, 11.30 a.m. RUGBY, April 23. Norway was represented by the Norwegian Minister in Paris at the latest meeting of the Supreme War .Council, held in Paris yesterday and to-day. Poland was represented by General Sikorski and M. Zaleski, Britain by Mr Chamberlain, Lord Halifax, Air Churchill, and Sir Samuel Hoare, and France by M. Reynaud, AT Daladier, M. Campinchi and M. Laurent Eynac. The British and French Chiefs of Staffs attended with other advisers.

3 All official communique states: 3 “There was a general exchange qt views at the meeting on all the politi- , cal and military problems requiring the - close attention of the Allied Govern- , meats at the present time in order to [ ensure the due and timely fulfilment of the undertakings of the Allies and the common defence of their interests , against any hostile action. “Alter having considered all questions relating to tho general conduct of the war, the council reached new decisions designed to guarantee the effective co-operation in all circumstances of the Allies. “The Polish President of the Council assured the Supreme War Council of the determination with which the Polish Government, army, and people would continue the struggle with all their resources, which are at this moment in process of active reorganisation and development, 'the council expressed great appreciation of the spirit inspiring these efforts and welcomed tlie effective contribution Poland was making to the common' cause. “Tlie French President of the Council, the British Prime Minister and the Polish President of tlie Council invited the Norwegian Minister to express to his Government their admiration for the heroic resistance which was being offered tlie invader by the people of Norway under the inspiring leadership of King Haakon. “The Norwegian Minister conveyed the thanks of liis Government for the speed and effectiveness of the help given to Norway by the Allied Governments.”
