CHAMPIONSHIPS DECIDED. MANAWATU ASSOCIATION. Saturday saw the completion of the final games in the Manawatu Cricket Association’s competitions, when glorious weather prevailed. Stumps were drawn early in all games owing to the failing light. _ . In the senior A competition City had to secure at least a six-point victory over United to win tne championship from Palmerston. City achieved their goal with an easy win on the first innings, which gave them the championship for the season by a margin of one point. In’ the final game of the senior B competition, Old Boys boat United by 99 runs on the first innings, and so won the championship with a margin of 7 points. Tho junior A championship went to Optimists, although Cool; s registered a six-point win over them in the final game.

Optimists were all out for 64 (F. Hart 6 for 28). Although Optimists suffered a six-point defeat, they won Hie junior A competition.
