OBITUARY
MR JAMES C. MURRAY. At the age of 68 years there passed away at Ins residence at Iviinbolton on April 15, 1940, following a lengthy illness patiently borne, Air James C. Murray, Born at Wanganui, Air Murray was the third son of the late Mr and Airs J. Altirray, and his farming career commenced at Afarton, where he worked on a property known as “Ellcrslie.” Later he worked on the land al; Waitnna and Pohangina before going to Kimbolton, where, he took, a keen interest in., sport, pai'.ieularl.v Rugby football. He was patron of the Iviinbolton Football Club and finally was made a life member. Other sports organisations enjoyed his liberal support. Of a generous disposition, Ah' Ahirray assisted in all functions spouorod in the interests of the district. In 1005 his marriage to Aliss Constance Russell, eldest daughter of the late Mr and Airs Alfred Russell, took place at AYainta. There are left to mourn his passing two sons and four daughters—Airs Al. Stone (Kimbolton), Misses Kathleen Joyce and Eileen Murray (Kimbolton) and Messrs Hugh (Cheltenham) and Keith Murray (Kimbolton). To them and Airs Murray, liis widow, the sympathy of a wide circle of friends Inis been extended. Alessrs Af. Altirray (Australia) and Air A. Ahirray (Hamilton) are brothers. The funeral, which was largely attended, took place on "Wednesday of last week. Rev. K. KJctiry conducting the services at the residence and at the cemetery at Kimbolton. The pallbearers were Alessrs R. Richardson, W. 0, C'lnphnm, I). Hammond, If. ATurrnv, K. Russell and AL Stone. Many beautiful wreaths were received, incluA; ing those of the Kimbolton Golf Club, Kmtbolton Croquet Club, and Kimhol-tou-Kiwitea branches of the W.D.E.U.
