MOTOR-CYCLE RACING.
MAXAWATU-OIUON CLUB. There wore many exciting moments at the Manawatu- Orion Motor-cycle Club’s meeting held oji the Fitzrov Street Trotting track on Saturday atternoon, several spectacular spills resulting through the greasy nature of the track. Fortunately, none of the riders was seriously injured and those who sustained a few knocks and bruises were soon back in the saddle. The principal events were run. in four heats, with four riders in each heat, and there were some keen finishes. The weather was ideal and there was a fa.ir attendance. The chief officials were: Secretary, Mr F. Whitcombe; handicappers, Messrs G. Zaloum and D. Collison; timekeeper, Mr J. Dallas, Results are: One Mile Open. —Semi-finals: First heat, Shcerin (time Imin 40see). .1 ; second heat, M. Page (Imin 3Csec), 1; .final, M. Page (Imin 45scc). .1. One Mile Handicap.—Semi-finals: First heat, Petersen (osec) 1, Andrews (3sec) 2; second heat, Matthews (osec) ], Pinker (scr) 2; final, Pinker 1, Petersen 2, Andrews .‘3.
