OFFER OF REWARD
THE WAIKINO MYSTERY. NEW POLICE ACTION. Per Press Association. WAIHI, April 19. Notification lias been received from the Minister in Charge of Police, (Hon. P. Fraser), that a reward of £SOO will ho _ paid for information or evidence which will lead to the conviction of the person or persons who caused the deaths of Alice Elizabeth Hamilton and Lloyd Moran. Indemnity against prosecution will ho given to any ’accomplice, not being the person who actually caused the deaths, who shall he the first to give such information. The offer will remain in force till June 30, 1940.
The bodies of Mrs Hamilton and Lloyd Moran were found far apart on the side of the main Paeroa-Waihi highway early this month. The offer of a reward follows slightly more than a fortnight of widespread inquiry hv detectives from Auckland and Hamilton as wejl as in the Waihi-Thames area, and a thorough canvass of private and public garages in manv districts without any tangible result.
