SHIPPING SPACE.
A UCKL AND-AUSTRALIA. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND,. April 18. After discussing the position arising from the withdrawal of the Awatea from tho Auckland-Australia run, the Auckland Chamber of Commerce decided to-day to request the Government to investigate the cargo shipping space available in this port. A resolution was carried as follows: —“That the Government be requested' as w most urgent matter to arrange lor the use of all available space on vessels trading between Auckland on the. one hand and Australian ports and Fiji on the other.” , . , Mr N. V. Le Petit said that. Auckland was dependent on three shipping lines. Although there was no protest so far as passengers were concerned the position regarding cargo was different. There was still considerable business between Auckland and the East.
