Ingredients: i-lb. cooking apples, weighed after peeling, I gill water, r-oz. butter, 2-ozs. sugar, 2 eggs, 2-ozs. breadcrumbs. Peel, core and slice the apples and stew them in the water till soft. Mash them with a wooden spoon and add the butter, sugar and half the breadcrumbs. Beat the eggs and stir them in.
