“OLIVET TO CALVARY.”
Maunder’a -well-known cantata, "Olivet to Calvary,” was rendered in St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Terrace End, on Sunday evening by an augmented choir to a very large congregation, who were most appreciative of the beautiful music and striking phrases depicting the Saviour’s last journey to Jerusalem, His trial, and death upon the Cross. The tenor solos were taken by Mr H. King, the baritone by Mr A. It. McKegg and Air G. G. Priest, and the soprano by Mrs McPherson. The choral and 6010 work was rendered in splendid manner, in keeping with the majesty of the theme. PALMS DISTRIBUTED. The ancient ceremony of distribution, of palms on Palm Sunday was performed at All Saints’ Church. A largo number of Sunday school Scholars from all parts of the parish were present with the Scouts and Guides, and headed bv the choir, proceeded around the church singing the hymn, “All Glory. Laud and Honour.” As the procession passed the altar each child was given a small palm in tho shape of a cross.
