(From Our Own Correspondent.) OHAKKA. Alarcli 19. Two highly rospectcd residents of the district, Mr and Airs Benjamin i'Tueklington, were fare welled by a, largo number of residents in the Oliukca ldall lust Friday oii the eve of their departure for Rotorua, whero they will make their future home. Both Air and Mrs Frecklington had allied themselves with all movements for the progress of affairs in the district whore they have lived for some years. Airs Frecklington, in particular, found an outlet for her abilities in the work of the Women’s Institute, of which she has been a valued member, having been president for some years. The present position of tho institute is due in a, great measure to the interesl she has taken. Mr Frecklington, in addition to other activities, has ■taken a keen interest in hall affairs, being chairman of the Hall Committee for a number of years. Mr K. Vile expressed regret at the departure of the guests of tho evening and presented them with a chiming clock as a mark of appreciation of their work. Airs W. Robinson, on behalf of file Women’s Institute, presented Mrs Frecklington with a beautiful float bowl. Mr and Airs Frecklington, in expressing thanks for the gifts, regretted very much their departure from the district where they had made so many friends. Music for dancing was contributed by Mr IT. McKinnon, and the winners at. cards wore Airs IT. Alaslers and Air J. Ellery. At a further meeting of tho School Committee, held recently to complete arrangements for tho school picnic, Air K. Vile presided. Tho balance-sheet of the year’s activities was adopted, showing a substantial credit, balance. Proposed works to he commenced in the near future will require all the funds available. A programme of races and trophies was adopted.
